Three buckets — figure out which one your update falls into.

Fully online (myAadhaar portal)

  • Address update (with valid online proof — utility bill, passport)
  • Email update
  • Download e-Aadhaar

At an Indian Mission abroad

  • New Aadhaar enrollment for NRIs (if you spent 182+ days in India in the past year)
  • Biometric updates for children turning 5 or 15 — many consulates now host UIDAI camps

Requires a trip to India

  • Biometric updates if you're not eligible for consulate enrollment
  • Name corrections requiring physical document verification

Tip

Check the UIDAI 'Book an Appointment' page filtered to your consulate before planning anything. Slots open monthly and fill within hours.
